Papyrus Collection – Banana Paper Pendant Lamps

The Papyrus Collection is a series of handcrafted pendant lamps made from natural banana paper — a sustainable, plant-derived material that diffuses light with a warm, organic glow. Each lamp in the collection — Aurora, Cocoon, Crescent, Dusk, Orb, and Bloom — takes its form from nature: soft volumes, curved geometries, layered silhouettes. The material is the same across all six; the character of each is entirely its own.

Banana paper is made from the bark and fibre of the banana plant — a byproduct of agriculture that would otherwise go to waste. No trees are felled. No harsh chemicals are used in processing. The result is a material that is lightweight, breathable, and biodegradable, and that carries within it a quiet argument for how things ought to be made.

Stretched over metal frames, the paper catches light rather than blocking it, casting a gentle amber warmth that changes with the hour. These are lamps that work as well in a reading corner as they do above a dining table or in a hotel lobby — and that look just as considered in daylight, when the light is off and the form stands on its own.
