Clause 4.24.7 sets the minimum passageway width inside a dwelling unit at 1.00 m. That is the most useful number in the document for anyone buying furniture, because it is the space you are not allowed to fill.
The method is subtraction: take the clear width, remove 1.00 m for the walking route, and what remains is your depth budget. In a room built to the 2.4 m minimum, that is 1.4 m, which one sofa and one coffee table will exhaust.
How Much Wall a Three Seater Sofa Actually Needs
